Cranes

Our crane statistics show the number of cranes in recent years according to counts made at the field station at Lake Hornborga. The number of cranes on a particular day is the number that was counted the evening before, when the cranes flew out into the lake to sleep.

Web-footed birds

The cranes are not the only creatures to be counted at Lake Hornborga. Since 1983, the field station at Lake Hornborga has also been counting grebe, ducks, geese, swans and coot. On five occasions in the spring and four during the autumn, counts are made in all parts of the lake. Counting web-footed birds.
